Author of a commentary on Averroes' De substantia orbis, Niccolò Vito di Gozze, who was born in a rich and most cultivated family, commented on Aristotle looking at Platonic sources as well. He was interested in both natural and moral philosophy and commented on the Psalms. Gozze was for several times nominated chief of the Dubrovnick republic.
