Description

The anonymous author of the dialogue stages two Spanish characters — Francesco di Bargas and Iacobo Casaglia from Malaga: both disciples of a certain Gian Rodrighes (Juan Rodriguez), they discuss the recent publication of a Latin dialogue by Antonio Mainero on the immortality of the soul. Aristotle is often mentioned in the text, which also draws from Alexander of Aphrodisias and Averroes. The dialogue is followed in the Paduan ms. by other dialogues respectively concerning predestination and human happiness.
