The work is part of a larger section on bees which includes excerpts from a vernacular translation of Pliny's Natural History (Trattato delle pecchie secondo Plinio libro XI, ff. 153r-180v). The translation of Aristotle is based on the Latin version by Theodorus Gaza (first printed in Venice: Johannes de Colonia and Johannes Manthen, 1476, ISTC ia00973000, with several later editions: 1492, 1495, 1498, 1504, 1513, 1525, 1526, 1545, 1574).
