<text>The Ragionamento is an outstanding example of a general introduction to philosophy aiming to outline the whole structure of philosophical disciplines: a preliminary section on the definition of philosophy is followed by chapters devoted to a methodological introduction to natural philosophy, moral philosophy and logic. Even though Vieri draws on several sources, the main pattern is given by Aristotle and Aristotelian works perceived as a whole made up of sections which follow a precise order and a convenient method (both in terms of philosophical research and presentation of results). The list of authors who are mentioned in the text is most interesting for it shows the wide range of references employed by Vieri (cf. details of printed editions). The list of chapters gives an overview of book's structure and content: 1. 'Epilogo'. </text>

<e4r> INDICE DE LIBRI / citati in questa opera. Alcinoo Platonico, Alessandro Afrodiseo, Ammonio, Andrea Vessalio, Aristotele, Averroè, Bernardino Tomitano, Blemida, Cleomene, Cleomede, Donato Acciaiuoli, Euclide, Eudosso, Eustrazzio, Faloppia, Galeno, Georgio Gemisto, Georgio Pachimerio, Ipocrate principe de medici, Lorenzo Lorenzi cioè il Laurenziano, Mercurio Trimegisto, Niccolò Peripatetico, Nilo de syllogismi, Olympiodoro, Platone, Plotino, Plutarcho, Prisiano lydo, Ruberto linconiense, Simplicio, Themistio, Theodoro Gazza, Thodoro Methochita, Valverde, Vitellione.

<e4v> INDICE DELLE RV- / BRICHE DE CAPITOLI / di questa opera.

<[e5]r-[e7]v> IL PROEMIO.

<p. 1-403> LA ECCELLENZA / ET GRANDEZZA DELLA / FILOSOFIA. / CAP. PRIMO. </text>
