Perciò che sì come Iddio intende se stesso, et in se stesso tutte le cose di maniera, che niuna è sì picciola, o sì grande, che fugga la cognition sua; et poi queste medesime regge, et governa, operando in esse, come dalla lor natura è richiesto; così la philosophia ha questi due fini di donarci la intelligenza delle cose, et il modo da operar bene, et virtuosamente. &lt;26v&gt; &lt;expl&gt; Ma si risponde che sì come il precursore non è più nobile di colui che vien dopo, ma più ignobile, così avviene della prudenza, che tien luogo di precursore, et ci mostra la sapienza, come felicità nostra, sì come ne mostra ancora il modo d'adorare Iddio; et pure non è maggiore di Dio. Pongasi adunque la felicità haver due parti, l'attiva, et la contemplativa, et questa esser la suprema. Hora perciò che nel concetto della felicità par che s'inchiuda il piacere fia bene che sopra questo soggetto domani alquanto si ragioni. </text>
