Aristotle's Meteorology undoubtedly plays a main role among Breventano's sources, which are nonetheless extremely heterogeneous (Hippocrates, Seneca, Plinius the Elder stand out among the classical texts the author refers to and quote from, but it is worth remarking that Breventano turns to medieval contributions as well - e.g. Avicenna and Guillaume de Conches). The treatise is conceived as a complete catalogue of winds which follows a more general introduction to the topic. </text>
