Description

Ms. Florence, BNC, Magl. VIII.1548 contains autograph works by Curzio Picchena, a Florentine diplomatist very close to Cosimo II de Medici (he also became segretario di stato). The excerpts from Aristotle's Politics are very difficult to read because of Picchena's handwriting: moreover they are notes and waste-books full of corrections and erasures. As the first part of the manuscript confirms, Picchena was mainly interested in Tacitus' works (cf. his several editions of Tacitus published all along the 17th century).
