Description

The anonymous work is a paraphrase of some sections from Aristotle's Problemata dealing with issues of natural philosophy ('seconda particula del sudore', 'terza particula dell'imbriachezza', 'vigesima settima particula della timidità ') as well as moral philosophy ('vigesima ottava particula della temperantia', 'vigesima nona particula della giustitia', 'particula trentesima'). Each 'problem' opens with a preamble by the translator which works as a critical introduction to the text. The first preamble (f. 9r-v) is a sort of general introduction in which the author says that his treatment of Aristotle's Problems is part of a wider programme of Aristotelian readings: it follows a previous illustration of Meteorologica, book 1-3, and will be followed by a reading of Aristotle's moral works. The interest in connecting natural issues with moral ones seems to be the characterizing element of the work.
