Pompeo Vizzani's Compendio della filosofia naturale is part of a wider set of works conceived as an abridgement of classical philosophy (cf. the Compendio della scienza dei costumi). The work, dedicated to Pompeo's brother, Giasone, to whom an interesting dedicatory letter is addressed, is chiefly based on Aristotelian sources, but the author does not refer explicitly to the materials employed. The Compendio was published in 1609, two years after Pompeo's death.Printed Editions
